June Newsletter

Hello everyone! This month's newsletter will focus on Secure the Fort (And Remain Under God), A Military Mother's Message to America as we near the book's release in the next 2-3 weeks! (Xlibris June 2007, http://securethefort.blogspot.com)

Below are some updates on what God has been doing in the life of this book!

I recevied my author copy to preview this week and it looks very nice. I pray it will be a blessing to all who venture into its pages. Of course, after it went to print I found a couple of things that needed fixing! Too late now. I guess this will just go to show that God can use all of us imperfect people for His purpose and His glory! :) Keep watching the blog for release info and purchase links....and keep praying for this book's ministry to our troops and their families!
I submitted a poem out of the book to several non-profit organizations who transport WWII veterans at no cost to the Memorial in DC. "My Silent Heroes" will be distributed by HonorAir and HonorFlight pilots to the veterans they transport. What an honor this is to me!
Not long ago I found the reunion coordinator for the USS TENNESSEE's remaining crew members. I sent them a piece out of the book entitled, "Then and Now" that is about my great uncle Kenneth's letters written from this great battleship in 44-45. I asked the reunion coordinator to please feel free to share this piece with all members he is in contact with. I am very interested in locating any still living crew members that may have served with Uncle Kenneth.
There are several chaplains in various military installations who want to review the book for possible use/distribution to military families. This is such a blessing to me! I am simply praying for God to use this book how He sees fit to do so! I have a meeting this coming week with a state chaplain in the National Guard, and have contact with another state's National Guard Chaplain Corp. Whenever God opens a door, I shake my head in amazement at how He's working!
Last night I was able to participate in Bob Calvert's "Talking With Heroes" event and read a devotion entitled, "About Face" during my interview. This was an incredible experience for me as a military parent. Listening to the testimonies given on live radio simply touched my patriotic and Christian heart! I praise the Lord for what He has led Bob to do with this radio show....I ask that you pray for him in this ministry to bring positive and heartwarming stories from the field and into our living rooms. You can listen to all of his radio shows on his website, www.talkingwithheroes.com.
I have been chatting with the founder of www.adopt-a-chaplain.org both about the book and about adopting a chaplain to support and encourage. He said he would love to send the book's info to everyone in his chaplain network! If any of them want more info, or would like to submit a story of faith in the field for another volume of the book I'm currently working on, they can contact me directly.
I am also checking into gathering a group of women both from my church and from Military Missions (www.militarymissionsonline.com) to sew adaptive clothing for our injured soldiers in hospitals and rehab facilities. If you would like read additional information about this ministry, go to www.sewmuchcomfort.org . (**Don't forget! A portion of the proceeds from Secure the Fort will go to helping our troops through Military Missions!)
There is an air force base in Indiana that said they would get back in touch with me about coming there to read from the book, as well as at other bases in our area. I thank God every time I feel His hand at work in this venture...all glory truly is His! I'm continually anxious to see what God has in store.
I have had several base museum gift shops interested in the book as well. As soon as it is available through Ingram Distribution, I will contact them with purchase info!
I value the support and the prayers that go up for each and every soldier, no matter where or how long they serve, and no matter what they do. Just the fact that they VOLUNTEERED to wear a US armed forces uniform during this war on terror makes them all heroes to me! May God continue to bless this great country and all of our men and women who strive to keep her free...

Ministry Newsletter Lauched!

Welcome! I am very excited about sharing this new aspect of All Glory is His Writing Ministry with you. I have had several people asking how they can pray for the ministry, and I have been thinking about how to best accomplish that. I send regular email updates, as many of you know and have received them. Now, with this newsletter, I can accomplish that much easier. I just have one request. **FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WISH TO RECEIVE UPDATES AND PRAYER REQUESTS, PRAISES AND BOOK INFO: PLEASE USE THE SUBSCRIPTION BLOCK AT THE TOP LEFT AND ENTER YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS HERE. You will automatically receive any posts I make to this newsletter. Remember, if you don't subscribe, you will not receive the updates! I leave this up to you...

I have been in a whirlwind of amazement in how God works! As some of you know, I have just submitted my second book to Xlibris: Secure the Fort (And Remain Under God), A Military Mother's Message to America. The interior galleys are in, and after a few minor changes, will be ready to go to print! I expect the book's completion by June! A percentage of the proceeds from the STF series will go to Military Missions, a non-profit Christian organization that supports our troops in various ways. (See www.militarymissionsonline.com for details about this organization.)
Volumes Two and Three of Secure the Fort are already in progress. I am seeking submissions by our Christian military moms about their journeys with their sons or daughters in service. I am also seeking submissions by military chaplains about their stories of faith in the field. Please email me at Lucy@allgloryishis.com if you have a submission to send! God just provided a great resource through the site owner of www.momsofmilitary.com, who oversees a prayer circle of military mothers nationwide. The group is based out of Yorba Linda, California. She is going to have them email me with their testimonies of miracles they have experienced with their children on the frontline!

Bridge the Gap (A refreshing Biblical approach to healing from past abuse) is near completion. This book will also include journaling pages after each piece. Pray for this book's ministry to our women seeking to overcome abusive experiences. Pray as I seek to offer this course to area rape crisis centers and shelters for women.

I have gradually been working on marketing both the Living Water devotional and All Glory Is His book of poetry. I'm finding out that several tea room gift shops are interested in them! I will be meeting with the owner of a locally owned Christian bookstore next week about carrying both of these books. Pray for God to open the doors He wants opened for these books, and for them to minister to the people He urges to read them.

I have two military oriented events coming up that need to be covered in prayer:
1. Female Veterans Health Benefits Fair will be Sat. April 21st ( I will be able to promote Secure the Fort there, as well as work with Military Missions.
2. "Talking With Heroes" with Bob Calvert will come to our area to do a live taping of his radio talk show. Military Missions is sponsoring this to take place in early June. I look forward to helping Beth coordinate this event and the support it will provide to our troops!

Hope from Heaven (When Earth Loses a Child) is still in progress! God gave me a wonderful gift this week! Through a chain of events, I met a precious mother who has lost two sons (one to illness, one to suicide). She is going to write her testimony for the book. What a powerful story this will provide for other families to draw from! **Remember, when this book comes out, all proceeds will go to sponsoring Make A Wish Foundation children! Pray for it to do well and help many children who battle long term illnesses...

Needless to say, I am a busy beaver at this point! I am still doing volunteer writing for www.AllAboutGOD.com and have some assignments due on the 21st about our native american indians.

I hope you will join me in prayer as I seek God's will in all the above. Thank you to all who have been true prayer warriors for All Glory Is His Writing Ministry...remember to subscribe to the newsletter! :)
